Elise Atkinson

Specialist Fertility Counsellor, Psychotherapist

Elise is an experienced Counsellor and Psychotherapist whose primary practice focuses on fertility-related counselling.

Elise has 15 years of experience in the fertility sector, in both private and public health fertility clinic settings and also within her own private practice. Elise has previously practised at the Lister Fertility Clinic and Homerton University Hospital Foundation Trust in London, UK, also Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships as a Relationship and Couple Therapist.  Elise is also an accredited Clinical Supervisor providing guidance and support to practitioners working with fertility and relationship related concerns and difficulties

Elise has completed a Postgraduate Diploma in Psychodynamic Relationship & Couple Therapy and in Psychosexual Therapy from the University of East London & Tavistock Centre for Couple Relationships. Elise has also completed a Bachelor of Nursing at Queensland University of Technology (QUT) (1996) and is a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). She is also a qualified Fertile Body Method Practitioner and is currently completing training in Positive Psychology and Wellbeing.  At all times, she abides by The Australian Counselling Association Code of Ethics.

Elise holds full membership of the Fertility Society of Australia (FSA), the Australian and New Zealand Infertility Counsellors’ Association (ANZICA) and the British Infertility Counsellors' Association [BICA].  She also holds Level 4 membership of the Australian Counselling Association and membership of British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy.
